Sandra McDonald has been a homebirth midwife since 1986, and has attended over 1300 births.  She attended Texas A & M University with a Biomedical Science major. She is a past president of the Greater Houston Midwives’ Alliance (formally Houston Organization for Midwifery Education),  former member of the board of Directors of the Association of Texas Midwives, and former EMT. She has been active in promoting continuing education for midwives, and has taught on a variety of subjects including twin and breech birth, teen pregnancy, postpartum hemorrhage, suturing, nutrition, PCOS, homeopathy for pregnancy and birth, and preconception counseling. She also teaches AHA First Aid and CPR.  She has two daughters, both born into the loving hands of midwives.
