George Reiter was born in Brooklyn on April 1, 194. He graduated from Cornell and Stanford, moved to Houston in 1981, and is now a Professor of Physics at the University of Houston. He has a son and a daughter, and seven grandchildren.  He was a peace and justice activist in the 60’s , is a teacher of Reevaluation Counseling  and  has been practicing it for 42 years,  does a weekly radio show called Thresholds on KPFT devoted to new possibilities in the society, and is the co chair of the Harris County Green Party. He ran for congress in  2002.
