Sgt. Jeffery McGowen is a 24-year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff’s office. In addition to being a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist, he is a licensed instructor with Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Educatioin, Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) instructor, Resist Aggression Defensively (r.a.d.) Kids Instructor, Child Passenger Safety Instructor and he mentors at risk children in his community.Sgt. McGowen coordinated the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Child Passenger Safety Program, where he worked with and trained representatives from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies on how to set up and sustain a successful child passenger safety program. Jeffery is a veteran of the US Army Reserve, is a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, and was awarded several citations while serving. His proudest accomplishment is his family. He and his wife Sheryl are the parents of quadruplet boys who recently celebrated their 13th birthday.
